Quote taken from one of today's foremost elk hunting authorities Bob Robb in Bow Masters magazine October 2003 issue "The 12 Deadly Sins of Elk Hunting" Observations similar to this one by Bob Robb inspired me to create the North Mountain, WILD ELK RANCH, a place where the quality of trophy elk hunting can be compared to what it was, prior to the hunting pressure so many of us now experience. WELCOME to our "Wild-Elk-Ranch". The
only REAL elk hunting east of the Rocky Mountains. Many years ago, I had a dream of creating an elk-hunters paradise. My vision was to re-create the environment that existed prior to the present-day conditions of too few trophy animals and too many hunters. Having endured hunts in the West that fell far short of what was promised and reaching a point in my life where I had just one too many cold sandwiches while sitting in my tent in the rain, I was sure there just must be a better way. The North Mountain, Wild-Elk-Ranch is the result of this dream.
Our "Wild-Elk-Ranch" is unlike any other, which was our goal from the beginning. There are many places where you can pay to get an elk but, that is what you are doing, getting, and not hunting. At these other places, the elk that you hunt have not lived wild and are not wild. They are animals that have been raised in a pen and released days or mere hours prior to your arrival. When these animals see you, they may fully expect that you are bringing them a bucket of grain. As such, they do not act wild, are not elusive in any way, and often do not even run or move away when they see you. Here is where we offer a huge difference! The elk on the North Mountain, Wild-Elk-Ranch live wild. They have little contact with man, except in hunting season when any encounter with them is on a hunting type basis. These animals roam the forests of our huge private ranch and are not confined to pens. They live, roam and survive in this wilderness and as such, behave like any wild elk would, elusively. It is with great pride that we offer you the opportunity to hunt trophy elk, in a wild environment. Our ranch is the ONLY place that offers elk-hunting of this type. When you hunt with us, you can be proud of the fact that you are participating in a true hunt, in every sense of the word.
